Happy Mother's Day
/I heard a story once... something had gotten effed up in the process and a number of equipment needed to be collected and turned in. Before the officer-in-charge could even think about it, his SGT--his NCO--was on the job, taking care of business.
Sometimes the NCO yells.
Sometimes he doles out a good bit of discipline.
But a good NCO is respected.
He's the mother... [sorry, honey...it's just a comparison. I'd never go around calling any of your NCOs Mom or Mother.]
To all my mother readers and friends. Maybe you yelled this morning. Maybe you wacked the mouthy one in the shoulder. You might have forgotten the last concert or which kid didn't like broccoli. Maybe you just wanted everyone to be quiet...
But I know, at the bottom of your heart, you love your kids and want what's best for them, I say as I yell at my 4yo to go USE MY BATHROOM! She refuses to use any bathroom but the middle bathroom. But first her brother is showering. And then he's out and she's too busy. And now her sister is showering and she's dancing around, crying because she has no where to go to the bathroom.
My head explodes a little.
Mothers have a wonderful, aggravating, blessed job. Thank you Moms everywhere. And thank you to my mom, who loves me, even when she doesn't quite understand everything about me. I hope I have the grace to love my children as well as she does.
